Public Art

With the support of the Arts and Humanities Council, our New City Hall was built with the inclusion of public art as an inherent part of the structure.

My commission was to design and build a 60 foot long counter top to run the length of the Main Concourse.

I designed a graceful curved top to simulate the deck of a boat and planked it to resemble the same. I chose cedar as a reminder  of this great northwest resource and built it from a salvaged old growth log.
